Hospitals in Sector 4

Sector 4 has the densest concentration of hospitals on a single artery in Bucharest: Șoseaua Berceni, at numbers 10 and 12, gathers emergency neurosurgery, psychiatry and geriatrics. A few kilometres away, on Vitan-Bârzești and on Bulevardul Constantin Brâncoveanu, sit two more large emergency units.

We are not affiliated with these units; we list them because they are the usual destinations of journeys in the area.

Neighbourhoods and arteries

Sector 4 runs down from the centre, from Timpuri Noi and Bulevardul Unirii, south through Tineretului and Văcărești to Berceni and Apărătorii Patriei. It has one clear spine, Șoseaua Berceni, shadowed by metro line M2, and a second one along Șoseaua Olteniței.

What slows access down in Sector 4

Șoseaua Berceni is the most frequently blocked artery in the sector, especially at Piața Sudului, at Apărătorii Patriei and at the Turnu Măgurele junction. The queue often forms from Popești-Leordeni, at the exit towards Ilfov, and hits exactly the road to the hospital cluster at numbers 10 and 12.

In Berceni and along Giurgiului, the housing estates have narrow internal alleys with parking on both sides. Give the block number and the entrance so the crew does not have to look for it.

  • Block number, entrance, floor and flat.
  • Whether the building has a lift and whether it takes a stretcher.
  • Whether the alley to the entrance is drivable.
  • The destination hospital and ward, especially on the Berceni site.
  • A phone number answered by somebody present at the address.
