In short
- We book the whole series of sessions, with the same pick-up time on every journey.
- Pick-up from the bed and hand-over at the bed, both ways.
- From 250 lei in Bucharest, 350 lei in Ilfov; the return option is confirmed on the phone.
- One companion travels in the ambulance at no extra cost.
- 24/7 dispatch on 0735 347 600, including early-morning sessions.
If the patient's life is in danger, call 112
Safe Life Med is a private medical transport and assistance service. It does not replace the National Emergency Service. For cardiac arrest, loss of consciousness, massive haemorrhage or a serious accident, always call 112 first.
Why an ambulance rather than an ordinary car
On the way there, the problem is the transfer: a patient who cannot get out of bed alone needs a stretcher or a transport chair and two people to lift. On the way back, the problem is how the patient feels after the session. In an ambulance the patient can lie down, oxygen is at hand and a crew stays with them the whole way.
If the patient walks unaided and simply needs a ride, say so on the phone. The dispatcher will tell you the option that fits; we do not sell you a crew you do not need.
How to book a series of journeys
- You call once and give the days and times of the sessions at the dialysis centre.
- We fix the pick-up time from home for every day in the series.
- For the return leg we either set the hour in advance or you call when the session ends.
- If the centre changes the schedule, you call dispatch and we move the journey.
- The price is confirmed on the phone and stays the same across the series, as long as the route does not change.
What to tell us before the first journey
- The exact address of the dialysis centre and the ward for hand-over.
- The floor at home and whether the building has a lift.
- Whether the patient can get out of bed unaided or needs a stretcher.
- Which arm the fistula is on, so the crew puts nothing on that limb.
- Whether the patient needs oxygen on the way.
- The name and phone number of the person waiting at home.

Frequently asked questions
How much does private ambulance transport to dialysis cost?
In Bucharest rates start at 250 lei per journey, in Ilfov at 350 lei. For a same-day return and for a series of sessions, the price is calculated on your route and confirmed on the phone, on 0735 347 600, before the first journey.
Can transport be booked for every session in a month?
Yes. You give the days and times once, and we fix the same pick-up hour for every session in the series. If the dialysis centre changes the schedule, call 0735 347 600 and we move the journey.
Does the ambulance wait during the session?
It depends on how long the session lasts and on the crew's schedule. As a rule the crew returns at the agreed hour, but you can also ask them to wait on site. Say which option you want when you call, so the dispatcher includes it in the confirmed price.
Do you take patients to dialysis in Ilfov too?
Yes, we cover Ilfov around the clock. Rates start at 350 lei for the towns bordering Bucharest. We run the journey both ways, from Ilfov to a centre in Bucharest and back.
Can a family member travel with the patient?
Yes, one companion has a place in the ambulance and is included in the rate. It helps most on the way back, when somebody has to open the door and settle the patient at home.
What happens if the patient feels unwell after the session?
Tell the crew how the patient feels before departure. The ambulance carries oxygen, an electric suction unit and a defibrillator with monitor, and the crew can track blood pressure, pulse and oxygen saturation on the way. If the patient's life is in danger, the first call is always 112.
We answer at any hour, nights and weekends included. Tell us where we collect the patient, where they are going and whether they can walk, and we give you the arrival time and the final price on the spot.
