Where journeys from Sector 6 end
Sector 6 holds two of the largest residential districts in Bucharest, Drumul Taberei and Militari, and very few large hospitals inside them. Most journeys start here and finish in another sector: at the University Hospital in Sector 5, just across Splaiul Independenței, at Floreasca or Elias in Sector 1, on the Fundeni campus in Sector 2.
The starting rate is the same, 250 lei, wherever the journey ends in the city. We are not affiliated with the units below; we list them because they are the addresses we most often receive as a destination in the sector.
| Unit | Address |
|---|---|
| Spitalul Clinic de Obstetrică-Ginecologie „Prof. Dr. Panait Sîrbu” (Maternitatea Giulești) | Calea Giulești nr. 5 |
| Spitalul Clinic nr. 1 CF Witting | Calea Plevnei nr. 142-144 |
| Fresenius NephroCare dialysis centre | Bd. Iuliu Maniu nr. 59 |
| Diaverum dialysis centre, Sema Parc | Splaiul Independenței nr. 319 |
| Affidea imaging centre, Sema Parc | Splaiul Independenței nr. 319L |
Sema Parc, on Splaiul Independenței, is a large complex of several buildings. Name the building or the centre on the phone, not just the address, so the crew stops at the right entrance.
Neighbourhoods and arteries
Sector 6 stretches from Grozăvești and Crângași, along the Dâmbovița and beside Lacul Morii, west through Militari and south-west through Drumul Taberei. Its spine is Bulevardul Iuliu Maniu, which links the A1 motorway entrance to the city centre. Drumul Taberei has had its own metro line, M5, since 2020.

What slows access down in Sector 6
Bulevardul Iuliu Maniu is the most congested artery in western Bucharest, roughly between 07:00 and 10:00 and between 16:00 and 20:00. The jams in Militari have been documented in the press including through cases of ambulances stuck in traffic, and at weekends the exit towards the A1 motorway adds to it.
In Drumul Taberei the problem is different: the district has long internal alleys between blocks and numbering that is not obvious from the road. Give the block number and the entrance, plus a visible landmark, so the crew does not circle the whole block.
- Block number, entrance, floor and flat.
- A landmark visible from the road: a school, a shop, a metro station.
- Whether the alley between blocks is drivable.
- Whether the building has a lift and whether it takes a stretcher.
- A phone number answered by somebody present at the address.
